Mission
The
mission of the Conkwright Middle School Media Center is to provide a
variety of information in a variety of formats that supports
curriculum standards. These resources need to be accessible to
all library patrons. As well, the environment should support
collaboration among adults that helps assist students' information
needs and helps to develop students into life information seekers. |

Philosophy
The media center should be the hub of
the school's educational activities. Achieving such a media
center hinges on many different facets-a collaborative relationship
among the media center specialist, the teachers, and administration;
a well-developed collection in a variety of formats that is fully
integrated into the school's curriculum and provides for the
interest, information, and enlightenment of all; a well organized
facility making location of information easily accessible; a
well-developed media center curriculum that teaches research skills
as needed; a program that incorporates technology for research as
well as for presenting research; and an open, inviting
atmosphere that inspires a love for reading and life long learning.
A thriving school media center is a vital component to a successful
learning environment. |
